John Burton Harter created numerous paintings and portraits in collaboration with models. These models were often his friends and acquaintances in New Orleans.
Lawrence Gobble and Andreas Brock, who each modeled for Harter in the 1990s, met on April 24, 2023, at the facility where Harter’s art is housed today. The visit marked the first time they had seen many of the works featuring them.
Gobble and Brock discussed their recollections of Harter’s personality, his extensive artistic process, and the significance of his work in conversation with Lisa Rolfe, registrar.
